This series uses a visual image to illustrate an important clinical point of interest to general internists and community cardiologists. The image should be relevant to daily practice and should not focus on the rare or the weird.
The style of the article should be similar to that of a CME presentation, using a minimum of jargon and highlighting key points and new developments that the internist can quickly incorporate into his or her practice.
Usually the article is in a question and answer format, although exceptions are possible. Text should be brief, about 400 words, with just five key references.
The text in the article must include a clinical lesson, not just describe the image. Images must be of publishable quality. Images of patients must be accompanied by a permission to publish form signed by the patient.
